Three kids in tree

What inspires an attorney working in the Public Defender’s office to become a School Board member? Working every day with children in trouble, seeing first hand the difference public education can make in their lives, and how it affects the quality of life in our community. With your vote, Nina Hayden brings a fresh new perspective to our School Board! These are Nina Hayden’s priorities:

Quality Teachers

  • We need to attract more quality teachers by addressing teacher benefits.
  • We need to ensure that all teachers are educated, trained and given the proper tools to address the needs of every child.
  • We need to encourage the continued success of every child by recognizing teacher excellence.

Quality Programs

  • We need to address the graduation rate by effectively utilizing tutoring and mentoring programs to ensure educational achievement.
  • We need to create student interest in learning by revising current curricula to be more motivating and stimulating.
  • We need to ensure that our programs promote self worth and success by rewarding our children who perform well.

Quality Schools

  • We need to address the issue of providing state-of-the-art equipment and technology to assist in student learning and development.
  • We need to ensure that every child attends a school with adequate resources to stimulate and encourage educational growth.
  • We need to work smarter to ensure that our schools are producing children that have the building blocks necessary to be productive and competitive in the work place.
