Better Public Schools Make Better Communities!

Nina Hayden reading a book to children

I came to Pinellas County in 1998 to attend Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, FL. After I graduated from Stetson, I began my legal career as a Public Defender in the Sixth Judicial Circuit located at the Criminal Justice Center on 49th Street in Clearwater, FL. For 5 years I have represented those who cannot afford to hire an attorney in county and circuit court. Currently, I represent juveniles who are charged as adults.

Through my experience at the Public Defender's Office I am able to see the challenges that our children in Pinellas County face and help provide the solutions needed to support them in their educational goals. Curricula must be put in place which creates an environment that makes learning more interesting and promotes in our children the value of getting an education.

Every child who graduates from our public school system should have the educational building blocks necessary to be productive citizens in the workplace of Pinellas County, the United States and the Global Market. I am committed to devoting my time, knowledge and energy to invest in the future of our children and ensure that each child in the Pinellas County school system has the opportunity to graduate and become a successful adult.
